WHO IS STEVE?

I'm Steve Boxall. Originally from England, now based in Miami, and I've spent the last twenty-odd years photographing people in places that weren't designed to be photographed in. Factory floors, casino floors, operating theatres, university campuses, and — yes — the inside of a weightless aircraft at 32,000 feet. (That last one comes up more than you'd think.)

A man with short, gray hair, glasses, wearing a short-sleeved shirt with a navy and white floral pattern, sitting with his arms crossed on a reflective white surface against a plain white background.

My speciality is real people at work. The crews, teams, and individuals who keep things moving — and the humour, pride, and personality that surfaces when you actually pay attention to them. I started my career in London shooting for BBC Television and Virgin Atlantic, and somewhere between then and now I've covered most of the industry: advertising, editorial, healthcare, corporate, lifestyle, sport, and a few jobs that genuinely defy category.

Whether I'm working for a major agency or directly with a client, I approach it the same way — efficiently, collaboratively, and with a genuine interest in making something good. If there's a way to make a setup feel more natural, or a moment feel more real, I'll find it.

I'm based in Miami and work across the US and internationally. If you've got something interesting to photograph, I'd love to hear about it.

A two-page magazine spread with the title 'PD NEWS' and several photographs. The main photo shows a woman in a blue uniform with her hair flying back, lying on the ceiling of an aircraft, with passengers in the background. Other images include two men in flight suits floating in zero gravity, and a man with a camera surrounded by yellow balls.
