Sneaking into the Parade: Tomcat Rats at the Panthers Celebration
This was one of those shoots that reminded me exactly why I love what I do: totally unexpected, completely fun, and brilliantly creative.
When The Martin Agency called about capturing content at the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Parade for Tomcat, I was immediately intrigued. The concept? Photograph a cleanup crew—branded in Tomcat gear—collecting the plastic rats thrown by the crowd. Clever, right?
The day was set against the bustling backdrop of Riomar Street along State Road A1A, packed with more than 200,000 excited fans celebrating the Panthers. If you’ve ever been to an event this big, you’ll know chaos is part of it. Cell service was spotty, the energy was electric, and the Broward Police Department graciously let us slip in behind the parade route to get the shots we needed.
Once the parade kicked off around noon, we patiently waited until the crowd thinned a bit to start shooting. By 1:30, our Tomcat crew hit the streets, collecting plastic rats and making sure the brand’s message shone through clearly amidst the revelry. A quick shoutout to stylist @tonikowhite for keeping everyone looking sharp, producer JJ Jones for effortlessly coordinating the controlled madness and Evan Frank and Allison Rude at The Martin Agency.
Huge thanks to everyone involved—especially the Broward PD for letting us sneak in. Check out the final shots and a few behind-the-scenes moments
