Elle China - Spruce Creek
In Spruce Creek, Florida, cars don’t own the road. Airplanes do. The small town’s main streets are actually airplane runways, and half of the 1000 residents have one or more aircrafts in their garage! Some of the airplanes are full on private jets, but others cost less than a car. And in Spruce Creek, everyone helps each other. Most residents refer to it as “heaven on earth” and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

National Council On Aging (NCOA)
National Council On Aging (NCOA) - Connecting 225 Older Adults to technology through an innovative program that uses tablets, an older adult-friendly interface, curated content, age-appropriate training, and ongoing peer support provided by older adult centers. Goal is to demonstrate how the adoption of broadband and wireless technologies can improve the quality of life and age in place.

The Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS) program was designed to support teachers as they increase the use of mobile technology in today’s classrooms in ways that align with The International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) Standards, the country’s most commonly-used technology standards describing digital-age learning experiences










Girls Who Code
The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program is a 7-week intensive computer science course that embeds classrooms in technology companies and universities. Girls learn everything from robotics to mobile development to HTML and CSS while gaining exposure to the tech industry and receiving valuable mentorship from women working in technology.




Pediatric Mobile Clinic
The University of Miami Health System Pediatric Mobile Clinic launched a new anti-obesity program for Miami-Dade teens. The Program is the first of its kind for UHealth, and will feature clinical and research components through the use of Fitbit bracelets, smart phones and tablets, telehealth and a multidisciplinary health team.

Minority Male Makers Program
The Minority Male Maker program was created with four of the nation’s leading Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The HBCUs are empowering minority middle school males to become creators and makers through 3D design and app development. Students will be introduced to the latest technology enabling them to design and develop apps and 3D objects, as well as learn about entrepreneurship.
